Experimental evidence on the origin of Ca-rich carbonated melts formed by interaction between sedimentary limestones and mantle-derived ultrabasic magmas

چکیده
Abstract In this experimental study, we documented the formation of strongly ultrabasic and ultracalcic melts through interaction melilititic basanitic with calcite. Three to moderately SiO2-undersaturated volcanic rocks from Bohemian Massif (central Europe) were mixed 10, 30, 50 wt% CaCO3 melted at 1100, 1200, 1300 °C 2 kbar evaluate maximum amount carbonate that can be assimilated by natural shallow depths. Experiments revealed a surprisingly complete dissolution CaCO3, only rarely reaching saturation, typical liquidus phases represented olivine, spinel, melilite, clinopyroxene. Only in runs most compositions did abundant monticellite form instead For all starting mixtures, (SiO2 down 15.6 wt%), lime-rich (CaO up 43.6 (CaO/Al2O3 ~27) melt produced 1200 °C, ~25 dissolved CO2. When present, quenched olivine showed much higher forsterite content (Fo95–97) than samples (Fo79–85). The two major results study are (1) silicate-carbonatite do not necessarily imply existence carbonatitic components mantle, because they also during limestone assimilation, (2) Fo-rich olivines cannot used infer any primitive character nor high potential temperature (Tp).

Ultra-calcic Magmas Generated from Ca- depleted Mantle: an Experimental Study on the Origin of Ankaramites
Ultra-calcic ankaramitic magmas or melt inclusions are ubiquitous in arc, ocean-island and mid-ocean ridge settings. They are primitive in character (XMg 4 0 65) and have high CaO contents (414 wt %) and CaO/Al2O3 (41 1). Experiments on an ankaramite from Epi, Vanuatu arc, demonstrate that its liquidus surface has only clinopyroxene at pressures of 15 and 20 kbar, with XCO2 in the volatile comp...
متن کاملon translation of phatic communion and socio-cultural relationships between the characters of the novels
phatic communion is a cultural concept which differs across cultures. according to hofstede (2001), the u.s. tends to have individualistic culture; however, asian countries tend to have collectivistic cultures. these cultures view phatic communion differently. in individualistic cultures like u.s., phatic communion reflects speakers’ socio-cultural relationships in conversations. to see whether...

The rift-related magmas of the Proterozoic Gardar Igneous Province were emplaced across the contact between the South Greenland Archaean craton and the Palaeoproterozoic Ketilidian mobile belt. It has been suggested that the geochemistry of Gardar intrusive rocks in the two areas varies across the craton margin and that this reflects a lithospheric control. However, comparison of the geochemica...
